What is a Postpartum Doula?
As a Postpartum Doula, and Lactation Counselor I specialize in supporting the family following the arrival of a newborn baby. I provide evidence-based information with up-to-date training in infant care, breastfeeding, and newborn behavior.
My support and education can include infant feeding (breast and/or bottle), newborn care and sleep, emotional and physical recovery from birth, family-baby bonding, infant soothing, and light household help.
My job is to 'work myself out of a job’ by helping parents gain experience and confidence in their ability to parent their child.
Where?
I serve families in the Peninsula and the South Bay, all the way from San Jose up to San Mateo, California.
I will typically come to the parents' home depending on the family's needs for the first few weeks, to make sure everything is running smoothly so parents can concentrate on taking care of the baby.
